A. Support administrative coordination amongst the Consortium by ensuring effective communication,
cooperation, and access to rapid data exchange that will advance the goals of the individual Consortium sites.
B. Utilize the unique institutional infrastructure at UTMDACC to provide centralized data management services
that will be readily accessible to all Consortium sites via a secure website, and provide bioinformatics and
biostatics services for the analyses and interpretation of data.
C. Standardize bio-banking activities and develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) for biospecimen
collection, processing and distribution, as well as provide access to biologically relevant PDAC preclinical
resources.

Anirban Maitra, M.B.B.S
Dr. Maitra is a Professor of Pathology and Scientific Director of the Sheikh Ahmed Pancreatic
Cancer Research Center at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The long-term goal of his
research
is to improve the dismal survival rate for patients with pancreatic cancer. His laboratory has been an
integral
part of the team that sequenced the genomes of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and other variant
tumors,
including pancreatic cystic neoplasms and neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas.

Subrata Sen, Ph.D.
Dr. Subrata Sen is a Professor in the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology at the University of
Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Sen’s laboratory has been pursuing complementing functional genomic and
cellular pathway based strategies to develop early detection biomarkers for pancreatic cancer. His lab was the
first to develop a circulating plasma miRNA biomarker signature for detection of early stage pancreatic cancer
and more recently successfully standardized the use of novel technology platforms for profiling of circulating
miRNAs and metabolites from small volume of plasma samples.
